I decided to do some research about the laws in Aksala. who knows, perhaps i will be spending more time here than I had originally thought. In California alone, more than 1 million crimes are committed every year. Aksala has an extremely low crime rate regarding different cities. This proves that the people living here are all very happy with what they have, and do not need to go against the law in order to live happily. The law here is much more relaxed than in California because the people here value what they have and do not have the desire to need more. My whole time here I have not seen anybody living in extreme poverty, nor have I ever seen a police car or cop. The police doesn’t need to patrol around the streets because they would have nothing to patrol. Also, Aksala is a very large country and if something were to happen, in most cases it would take the police far too long to get there due to the spread out living conditions. By the time police have arrived, the suspect would either already be in the next town or the victim would have taken things in their own hands. The people are very happy with this because they don’t believe in the police helping out that much. They would much rather take things into their own hands. However, for some cases the police is necessary. For example with drugs and alcohol. Most drugs are legalized in Aksala because the government believe that the people should have the choice to not use them. Aksala is very big on “Doing things yourself”. Thiscan also be seen in the government. Harsh drug usage can result in jail time, but only very rarely. The legal drinking age in Aksala is 17. Consumption of alcohol below 17 could end with a stern warning from the police. Immigration laws in Aksala are very relaxed. The people believe that they have enough space to house anyone who would like to come and live in Aksala, but due to its uncommon location and cold climate, not a lot of immigrants come to Aksala. Less than 5% of the population are immigrants. This is one of the lowest percentages in the world. The death sentence is not used in Aksala because the people believe that life is very valuable and should never be taken away. However, harsh crimes can result in a lifetime of imprisonment.
